The iPhone 5 has already sold out in the UK after pre-orders were opened up this morning via the Apple website.
Those looking to get their hands on the latest 16GB Apple device are facing a two week wait for dispatch from the tech company, while 32 and 64GB versions of the phone won't be dispatched for 2-3 weeks.
All models are supposed to be released in one week's time on September 21.
iPhone 5 pre-orders began at 8am in the UK and Apple’s website initially struggled with traffic spikes.
It took just a few hours for the iPhone 5 to sell out via the Apple website, with the company advising shoppers to visit local Apple stores and phone network retail outlets.
The iPhone 5 was unveiled on Wednesday night at an Apple conference in the US along with a new iTunes.
The iPhone 5 redesign features include extended battery life, a new 4-inch Retina display and an Apple-designed A6 chip which is apparently around double the speed of the "previous generation".
