iPhone 6 and 6 Plus pre-orders topped 4m in 24 hours

Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus sold 4 million in the first 24 hours of their pre-order window after being unveiled last week.

The figure comes in at double the 2 million pre-orders seen in the first 24 hours of iPhone 5 being made available in 2012.

“iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are better in every way and we are thrilled customers love them as much as we do,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook in a statement.
