Italy’s independent Electronic Communications Authority has plans to action blockades and seizures of pirate websites that fail to respond to takedown notices within three days.
In a draft regulation to the European Commission, the telecoms regulator also outlined measures to instruct local and foreign internet providers to identify the operators of the alleged pirate sites.
Sites can currently only be blocked through court orders.
The proposed action takes further that of the takedown process of the United States’ DMCA law. ...
