James Blake wins 2013 Mercury Prize

James Blake was crowned the winner of this year’s Barclaycard Mercury Music Prize last night for his second album Overgrown.

The 25-year-old artist and producer was pitted against the likes of Arctic Monkeys, David Bowie and Laura Marling.

Overgrown was released in April through Polydor and debuted at No.8 on the UK Albums Chart.

The victory was announced at the ceremony in Camden’s Roundhouse which, hosted by Lauren Laverne, featured performances from other shortlisted acts Disclosure, Foals, Jake Bugg, Jon ...
