Multi award-winning songwriting and production duo Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have signed a worldwide publishing administration deal with Universal Music Publishing.

The deal encompasses all new work written by the team but will exclude their extensive back catalogue.

To date, the twosome have produced a slew of Hot 100 No.1 singles including George Michael’s Money, Usher’s U Remind Me, The Human League’s Human and a number of Janet Jackson chart-toppers including All For You and Doesn’t Really Matter.

The majority of Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam's – real name James Samuel Harris III – catalogue is administered by EMI for the duo's own publisher, Flyte Tyme Tunes.

"Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are one of the greatest hit-making teams of all time,” UMPG North America president Evan Lamberg. “It's an absolute honour to be working with them and having them join the Universal Music Publishing family."

UMPG chairman and CEO Zach Horowitz added: "Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have crafted career-defining songs for the many artists they've worked with over the years. We are thrilled they will now be continuing their incredible legacy as part of the Universal Music Publishing family."
