Classical crossover artist Katherine Jenkins has agreed a publishing deal with BMG Chrysalis UK.
The addition means that the company now represents the majority of the copyrights on the Welsh singer’s seasonal offering This Is Christmas.
The album entered the US iTunes Classical Chart at No.1 and the UK Classical Chart at No.2. It was also placed at No.1 in the Billboard New Artists Chart.
BMG already represented much of the publishing on the album through its deal with composer, producer and string arranger Sally Herbert.
This Is Christmas includes contemporary arrangements of many of the country’s best-loved Christmas songs, including Ding Dong Merrily On High, Away In A Manger and Santa Baby.
“Katherine Jenkins has brought classical music to a new, more mainstream audience and we are delighted to be working with her on this seasonal Christmas collection,” said BMG Chrysalis UK Senior VP Alexi Cory-Smith.
Tara Joseph, manager of Katherine Jenkins, added: “It is great to be partnering up with BMG Chrysalis for Katherine's first Christmas album.
“Alexi and her team are absolutely first class so we are really looking forward to working with them especially building on the growing success in the US.”
