Following similar reports at social network LinkedIn and dating site eHarmony, a message posted on the Last.fm's homepage advised all of its customers to "change their passwords immediately" as a precautionary measure.

They said: "We are currently investigating the leak of some Last.fm user passwords. This follows recent password leaks on other sites, as well as information posted online."
