US media company Viacom – owner of MTV amongst others – is to buy for Channel 5 for £450m.
The acquisition will “accelerate” Viacom’s strategy in the UK and provide “numerous exciting opportunities for the channel's future.” Together with MTV, Viacom owns Comedy Central and Nickelodeon.
