Hopes of a new Adele album being dropped in time for the Christmas rush have been dashed by XL Recordings in a new financial report.

The label’s latest financial report, filed with regulators yesterday, is reported to contain a statement ruling out an Adele release this year and therefore predicting a profit dip in 2014.
