Rick Ross sues LMFAO and Kobalt over Party Rock Anthem lyrics

LMFAO and Kobalt Music Publishing have been hit with a lawsuit by Rick Ross over use of the phrase “Everyday I’m Shufflin’”, which he argues is an illegal derivative of his own “Everyday I’m hustlin’”.

The disputed phrases can be found in LMFAO’s 2011 single release Party Rock Anthem and Ross’ 2006 debut single Hustlin’.

Andrew Harr and Jermaine Jackson are also named among the plaintiffs, while Kia Motors is listed as a defendant alongside LMFAO’s Stefan Kendal Gordy and ...
