The concert will be held by the President and First Lady in Washington on Wednesday evening and will also include on the bill Stevie Wonder, Sheryl Crow, Diana Krall and the actor Mike Myers.
At the concert President Obama will present Bacharach and David with the 2012 Library of Congress Prize for Popular Song, the first time the honour has gone to a songwriting team. In 2010 Paul McCartney was presented with the award by the President, while he handed the award to Stevie Wonder in 2009.
The concert, which starts at 7pm ET, will be streamed live on www.whitehouse.gov/live.
Rumer's second album Boys Don't Cry will be released by Atlantic in the UK on May 28.
