Russian artists appeal to Putin to stop Russkaya sale to the state

Russian acts and producers have asked President Vladimir Putin to stop a deal by state company Goskontsert to buy Russkaya Media Group.

In a letter, the artists argued that it would make it impossible for "most representatives of the music industry" to work with the group, which owns radio stations Russkoye Radio, Hit FM, Maximum and Monte Carlo, as well as the television channel RU.TV.
