Smartphone year-on-year shipments up 50%
Figures for smartphone shipments have been revealed by top tech brands, and it has been estimated that numbers for Q2 2013 are up 50% year-on-year.
MusicAlly reports the findings of IDC and Strategy Analytics that averages at 233.8m smartphones shipped in Q2, equivalent to a 50% year-on-year rise.
Of overall mobile phones shipped, smartphones were estimated to have accounted for an average of 57% of that.
