Sony's music operating income up 17.4% in FY 2014

Sony’s music business saw combined sales and operating revenues top $4.5bn in its fiscal year ended March 31.

The figure represents an 8.2% rise year-on-year. Meanwhile, operating income was up 17.4% to $491m.

The latest financial results from the Japanese corporation groups its recorded music, music publishing, visual media and platform businesses under one segment.
