Sony Music Entertainment India has signed a licensing deal with Warner Music Group to sell its music catalogues in India, Sri Lanka and the other SAARC countries.
Sony Entertainment currently holds around a 20% share in the Indian music market and hopes to add another 5% after the deal with Warner, according to The Economic Times.
The Indian music market is estimated at Rs 800 crore, with international music accounting for 15% of it and growing 10%- 12% every year.
