Spotify has hired former Netflix CFO Barry McCarthy to join its board of directors.

McCarthy spent over ten years helping Netflix CEO Reed Hastings grow the video streaming service to 17 million subscribers and prime it for international expansion.

His CV also includes stints at Music Choice and Pandora. The exec’s most recent role is as chief operating officer at mobile payments start-up Clinkle.
