Spotify no longer free for early US subscribers

The prominent music streaming service rolled into the US in July last year offering its usual unlimited free service for the first six months.

Those who signed up for Spotify upon its arrival in The States will soon see their 'Free Service' accounts capped to 10 listening hours per month and five plays per unique track, according to the company's Terms and Conditions.

"All new Spotify users, both in the U.S. and in all other countries in which Spotify is available, are able to enjoy an unlimited free service for their first six months," the company said in a statement.

"As we have previously stated, after a Spotify user has enjoyed free unlimited listening for six months, some changes to the free service will come into effect," the company said in a statement."

Of course, users do have the option of signing up for a Spotify Unlimited account at $4 per month or a Spotify Premium account that offers offline playlists, unlimited ad-free music and enhanced sound for $9.99 a month.
