Muve Music, a mobile phone-based download music service, has finished 2012 with more than 1.1million paying subscribers in the United States – more than the 1million reported by Spotify.
Since its commercial launch in January 2011, Muve Music - the Cricket Wireless-hosted service - has become one of the fastest-growing on-demand digital music services in the US.
The service is included in every Cricket Android smartphone rate plan, which allows users unlimited downloads to the device from the millions of songs in the Muve catalogue and includes content from all the majors and indies through Merlin, CD Baby, IODA, INgrooves, The Orchard and TuneCore.
It is the first wireless rate plan to offer unlimited music.
