Birmingham-based ticketing agent The Ticket Factory has appointed Peter Monks as its new commercial director.

Monks makes the move up from assistant general manager and will take overall responsibility for new business growth and development.

The Ticket Factory, which is also the official box office for the NIA, LG Arena and the NEC has restructured its commercial team to further build on the company’s growing success.

The shuffle includes the creation of three new positions which the company hopes will allow it to capitalise on new business opportunities.

“Our ticketing business is booming and in order to continue to expand we are investing heavily in Business Development,” said general manager of TTF Will Quekett.

“We also need to make sure that our key operational teams are focused on supporting business growth as we firmly believe that excellent service delivery is essential.

“Consequently we have created a senior new position, Commercial Director, and will be shortly be recruiting a new Business Development Manager and Business Development Executive with contacts and expertise in commercial sport, music and theatre in particular.”

Commenting on his new role, Monks said: “I am delighted to be able to continue to drive the growth of The Ticket Factory. I was heavily involved in our re-launch from an in-house box office to a national ticketing agent in 2007, and am extremely proud of what we have achieved over the past five years.

“I am looking forward to building on this success and expanding the Business Development team to further enhance our national inventory of concerts, shows and events, by providing our clients and customers with a real alternative to existing ticket agents.”
