TuneCore has posted a 19% increase in royalty payments for 2013 year-on-year and says that the total amount paid to rights-holders since its launch 2006 has now reached $371 million.
The digital distribution and royalty collection service paid-out $121 million to rights-holders in 2013.
TuneCore’s last overall payout tally came in October last year, when the company said it had distributed $330 million in royalties since 2006 – meaning that the latest count represents around $41m being paid out over three months.
“TuneCore congratulates all our artists on their personal success be it measured in earnings, recognition or by getting their music heard around the world,” said TuneCore president and COO Scott Ackerman.
“We’ll continue to build on the momentum we created this year and support artists, managers and labels by expanding on the new initiatives launched in 2013.”
