The man who lead Twitter’s #Music project Kevin Thau has departed the company to join a new start-up created by Twitter co-founder Biz Stone.
That’s according to sources familiar with the matter who have told All Things D that Thau is to become the chief operating officer of Jelly, Stone’s new venture, of which little is known at the moment.
Thau has been working on Twitter #Music since day one and the man who found We Are Hunted, the small company acquired by Twitter to power its new music platform.
Thau is the latest in a number of high-profile Twitter bods said to have exited to join Stone’s new company. Vitor Lourenco left the social network to act as a consultant for Jelly with Twitter’s Ben Finkel now acting as Jelly’s CTO.
Twitter #Music was officially unveiled last week as a standalone app allowing users to discovery trending music and play tracks through the platform via iTunes, Spotify or Rdio.
