Universal Music Japan President/CEO Kazuhiko Koike is to take on the additional role of president/CEO of EMI Music Japan as part of the Universal/EMI merger.
Koike will also serve as a director of EMI Music Japan and president of its strategic marketing division.
Elsewhere, Hitoshi Namekata, previously EMI Music Japan CEO, has also been appointed president of Universal Stragetic Marketing as well as Classics and Jazz at Universal Japan.
The changes will take effect from January 15. UMJ said it expects the two labels’ overall integration to be completed by April.
