The integration of streaming data into the Albums Chart is an important step in the industry’s bid to keep up with the modern consumption habits of an increasingly sizeable slice of society.

Coupled with streaming’s inclusion in the Official UK Singles Chart last year, this feels like the end of a journey that was embarked upon many moons ago. But don’t loosen those laces, I’m afraid this road is one that’s never ending.
