Swine flu curtails Four Tet gig
09:20 | Wednesday April 29, 2009
Domino Records signing Four Tet has been forced to call off a gig in Mexico because of the ongoing swine flu crisis.
Four Tet, the moniker of musician Kieran Hebden, was due to perform at the Pasaje America in Mexico City on Thursday, but the gig has now been cancelled following a decision to close the venue. This would have been his first ever Mexican show and would have followed his US tour.
A spokeswoman says Hebden will look to reschedule the gig once the swine flu crisis has passed.
The virus is thought to have killed nearly 160 people in Mexico, while the Foreign Office is advising anyone not to travel to the country unless the trip is essential.
Hebden, who began releasing material as Four Tet in 1998, followed a period with Warp by signing to Domino, which put out its first album with him in 2001.
The most recent Four Tet album, Ringer, was released by Domino in April 2008, while Hebden last year collaborated with David Arnold on Crawl, End, Crawl, which was used on the closing credits of the James Bond movie Quantum of Solace.
