Michael joins Island for Christmas single

George Michael is joining Island for a one-off Christmas single, after fulfilling his contract with Sony.
The single, released as a download on December 13 and physically the day after, is a new version of the singer’s December Song., which he offered as a free download last year.
This will be the first Christmas single Michael has made available for commercial release since Wham’s Last Christmas.
Sony is to release a live George Michael DVD in December and this fulfils his obligations for the major, according to a spokesperson for the singer.

Great news. Hopefully now his contract is fulfilled with Sony he will now release more new material for his fans. Live DVD is on pre-order and we are on countdown to the big day :-)
Given that Last Christmas itself will no doubt re-enter that charts this year on downloads, it'll be interesting to see whether this new GM release actually beats the Wham song. My guess is, it won't.
Really, just GREAT !!! I'm so happy to hear such good news ! I'm tired to hear (allmost) only news about drugs, sex or God know what scandals. I'm also waiting forward the "Live in London" DVD in Romania !

Although I downloaded the song for free last Christmas, on the 26th of December, from George Michael official site, I will buy it this year. Not only I wanna see what the sleeve is like but also I want to keep it. GM is an excellent songwriter, amazingly creative and I looove to hear him sing! I truly hope we get to see more of his work next year and the next and the next ….
