44% of children think free downloading should not be illegal

In total, 44% of those aged 12-15 polled in the Children's Media Literacy Audit believed that downloading content, including movies and music, for free should not be illegal.

On the positive side, 38% believed it should be illegal, although 18% said they had no view either way.

The findings also revealed that boys aged 12-15 were more likely to be of the view that free downloading in this way should not be illegal.
