IODA to digitally distribute Alan Lomax archive

Following a partnership between IODA and the Alan Lomaz Archive, thousands of traditional and vernacular music recordings made between 1933 and 1991 will be distributed worldwide by IODA.

Lomax's hugely respected fieldwork saw him capture the sound of numerous cultures and the birth or development of many genres including jazz, blues, country and folk. The recordings, many of which have previously been unavailable, will be released via the Archive's new label Global Jukebox.
