Nokia cuts 7,000 jobs

Some 4,000 jobs (including 700 in the UK) will go while 3,000 posts will be outsourced.

On top of this, consultancy company Accenture will take charge of running the company's Symbian software.

The company is looking to refocus its operations around smartphones in light of losing ground to Apple's iPhones and the variety of devices running Google's Android operating system.
