The move finds the publisher taking back control of all its performing rights for its EMI April Music catalogue so it can license them to a variety of streaming and cloud-based services.
The April Music catalogue is one of EMI's largest catalogues and the major will now be able to license the rights for mechanical, performance or sync online.
ASCAP will continue to license EMI's performance rights with respect to traditional media services, including television and radio stations.
