Radioplayer, an online listening platform for radio that is intended to boost listening via the internet, launched at the end of March, with Absolute Radio COO Clive Dickens calling it "the most important development in the last 50 years of radio".

In June it announced that it had attracted 5.7 million unique users over a four-week period earlier this year. That increased to 6.7 million across the four weeks of August from Monday August 1 to Sunday August 29.
