Leading UK ISPs granted chance to appeal against Digital Economy Act

The proposal to send warning letters to thousands breaching download laws could be put back by six months as a result of a hearing to be held at the court of appeal.

The ISPs have the opportunity to challenge the Act based on concerns that have been raised on how the law works alongside EU rulings on:

- technical standards
- authorisation
- e-commerce
- privacy
- electronic communications
