Smooth to launch Christmas station
Monday, Oct 17th 2011 at 9:02AMSmooth Xmas will air on the Digital One platform from November 1 to December 27 and will play only Christmas tunes.
At the outset, the station will play back-to-back music, adding presenters and features in the following weeks. It will be advert-free.
GMG Radio's group programme director John Simons said he thought the initiative would bring new listeners to Smooth, which recently celebrated its first year as a national station.
