Vinyl album sales up 40% year-on-year in UK
Wednesday, Oct 19th 2011 at 10:02AMAccording to Official Chart Company figures, annual sales at set to reach a six-year high, having already passed 240,000 units.
The number of sales to date in 2011 has already surpassed 2010's total, which stood at 234,000.
In October 2010, year-to-date sales stood at just 170,000.
The Official Charts Company predicts that 2011's total vinyl album sales figure will exceed 300,000 units for the first time since 2005, when 351,000 units were shifted.
