Now... That's What I Call Music to celebrate 100th edition with fan-voted awards

Now… That’s What I Call Music has announced details of its first awards ceremony, with a range of pop’s biggest names including Taylor Swift, Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears among the nominees.

The compilation series celebrates its 100th edition later this year, and has announced the Now 100 Awards in association with HMV and Magic Radio.

The franchise has featured over 2,000 artists and has generated more than 120 million sales since its first edition in 1983.

Featuring categories including Best Male, Best Female and Best Group, the Awards will give music fans the chance to pick their favourite artists of the Now years. Votes are cast via Now’s website and the winners will be announced on July 20, when Now’s 100th edition will hit the shelves.

Now… 99 was released in March and has shifted 328,930 copies to date, according to the Official Charts Company.

Last summer, Steve Pritchard, co-MD of the franchise alongside Peter Duckworth, told Music Week its 100th edition will “make a big splash”. Read the interview in full here.

Voting is open now and will close on July 19.
