AIM appoints new chairperson and management group

AIM has appointed Tim Dellow of Transgressive Records as its new chairsperson, while also revealing details of a new management group.

Dellow will oversee AIM board matters, working closely with AIM CEO Paul Pacifico. The goal of adding Dellow to the team alongside Pacifico is to guide the organisation’s strategic direction. As part of the current restructuring under Pacifico, the roles of the chairsperson and CEO have been split.

Dellow commented on his new role: "I'm honoured to have been elected as the chairperson of AIM. The Independent sector is flourishing, reflected in this incredibly dynamic board, which has great ambitions to develop talent and break artists in this exciting landscape. I am sure that AIM will continue to reflect the true voice of independent entrepreneurship, and help our diverse membership fight for ethical deals and approaches on behalf of the artists they represent."

Pacifico added: “It’s great to have the support of such a high calibre Chairperson and management group as we enter the next chapter of AIM. The management board will help us in addressing a number of challenges facing AIM and the independent community, with an initial focus being strengthening the support AIM provides regionally to members.”

In addition to the appointment of Dellow, AIM has added a new management group to work closely with Dellow and Pacifico. The group members include Jane Third, Because Music; Hannah Overton, Secretly Group; Martin Mills, Beggars Group; and Peter Quicke, Ninja Tune.

Mills said: “As an independent, it’s hard to imagine life without AIM. AIM is our community, our collective face, the entity through which we are all strong together. AIM’s 18 years of existence have been years of dramatic change in the market, and it’s great to see how the organisation has grown in step with and ahead of the times.”
