Independent music services company MonoKrome Music has announced details of a new appointment.
Former Believe Digital GM Lee Morrison has joined founder Kristian Davis-Downs at the organisation, creating a partnership that will see the company provide music industry services for the independent sector.
Established to work with labels, managers, artists, lawyers and anyone else holding rights, MonoKrome Music allows both master and publishing rights holders to externalise services in order to save money and increase creativity.
MonoKrome works with promo teams, distributors, pluggers, publishers and new technological platforms on its clients’ behalf, while also offering in house services including neighbouring rights, publishing, data asset management and strategy.
MonoKrome technology manages all aspects of rights to ensure rich data is available for its partners. Rightsholders then have the ability to collect the maximum revenues available. The company offers a confidential service to help clients navigate the range of services on offer.
Lee Morrison said: “I have spent the last 12 months looking at what is really needed in our industry and what I should do next, with so many amazing tools and solutions in the market it was difficult to see where the gap was when all the time it was staring me in the face. There is too much available in the market. A mutual lawyer friend introduced Kristian and I and it was clear from the beginning that by working together we can create something very special as we both share a lot of the same values but differing experience. Our aim is to help our clients to understand what’s on offer and use the best for their business. This can change artist-by-artist and release-by-release, so having a partner to help work through this is invaluable.
Kristian Davis-Downs said: “Upon meeting Lee, it was clear we share the same vision; his drive and determination along with his proven record of success makes this a match made in heaven, we both have differing strengths which is key to the success of any company and I look forward to growing the business together.”
