Memorial event organised for late booking agent Dave Chumbley

A celebration of the life of much-loved live agent Dave Chumbley will be held at The Garage in Highbury on Thursday evening (February 1).

Chumbley (pictured), who died last August aged 57, represented artists including Lana Del Rey, Imogen Heap, Nerina Pallot, Ziggy Marley, Rufus Wainwright and Gwen Stefani. He was also Kylie Minogue's agent up until 2014.

Del Rey paid tribute to Chumbley on stage at last year's Artist & Manager Awards. “I really felt if I mentioned his name he’d be smiling because he loved things like this,” she said.

Chumbley was a director of booking agency Primary Talent International (PTI), which wrote: "We would like to invite you to join us in a celebration of Dave's life, to be held at The Garage in Highbury, London on the evening of Thursday, February 1. We want to invite as many of Dave's colleagues and friends to come along - if you know of anyone that we may not have been able to reach, please let us know so that we can get in touch with them."

A Just Giving page set up by PTI to fund a lasting memorial for Chumley exceeded its £30,000 target.

George Akins, owner of DHP Family, which runs The Garage, described him as a "great friend and supporter”.

A number of Chumbley's colleagues and associates have posted tributes and stories of their experiences with him here
