Following his catalogue being removed from streaming services in February this year, the music of Paul McCartney has now reappeared on a number of popular platforms.
McCartney’s music has made an inconspicuous return to Spotify, Deezer, Rhapsody and Rdio, despite comments made earlier this year by his label spokesperson Philip Bailey who said that the original removal of material “wasn’t done because people are anti-streaming.
"Management has decided they would really like to have some sort of unveiling [on streaming services]. They want, more than anything, to make it an event,” he said.
Bailey said that the decision, at the time, was in the interests of “how to best profile this catalogue.”
In May, reports suggested that the McCartney catalogue would be introduced to Spotify as each of his solo records were remastered.
