Music tech company BandLab Technologies has appointed Ivan Chen as chief executive officer.
Meng Ru Kuok, who has served as chairman and CEO since co-founding the company in 2015, becomes executive chairman.
Chen joined BandLab Technologies in 2016 as chief operating officer and became president in 2024. He has played a key role in expanding the company into a global portfolio of music technology businesses, working with Kuok across operations, fundraising, strategic direction and M&A.
BandLab, the company’s flagship product, is a social music creation platform. The wider business also includes music production software Cakewalk, artist services platform ReverbNation, beat marketplace Airbit and AI-powered digital music studio Aiode.
As CEO, Chen will lead BandLab Technologies day to day and oversee its next stage of growth. Kuok will remain actively involved, working closely with Chen on long-term strategy, major partnerships, opportunities and investment priorities.

Kuok remains group CEO of parent company Caldecott Music Group, where Chen also continues as group president.
