Beatport streaming service links up with 'most widely used DJ software in the world'

Beatport Link has integrated with VirtualDJ 2020 to enable users to stream directly into the DJ software.

It is the latest partnership for Beatport Link, which is connecting its subscription service to both hardware and software for the DJ community. Recent integrations include Pioneer DJ’s mobile WeDJ app, desktop app Rekordbox DK and Denon DJ’s Prime Series hardware, with further announcements expected this year.

Beatport CEO Robb McDaniels said: “With over 100,000,000 downloads, VirtualDJ is the most widely used DJ software in the world. We couldn’t be more excited to add this large and passionate community to the rapidly expanding Beatport Link ecosystem.”

Beatport Link has a catalogue of six million tracks fully licensed for DJ performance. McDaniels has told Music Week that streaming opens up global opportunities for Beatport, as well as potentially increasing revenue for the industry as a result of improved data reporting.

Subscribers of Beatport Link Pro and Beatport Link Pro+ have access to offline locker storage of 50 or 100 tracks. Beatport will maintain its download store alongside the streaming service.
