The Music Publishers Association Group of Companies (MPA, MCPS, IMPEL and PMLL) is seeking a dynamic Marketing & Communications Executive to be the gateway to communications on its work to its members, industry stakeholders and the general public. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a busy, fun and forward-thinking music company; the successful candidate will have a genuine love for writing and demonstrate the flexibility to apply this to both creative and factual copy writing tasks. A passion for music and keen interest in music industry issues and current affairs, along with an awareness of music publishing is a must.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all aspects of the MPA Group of Companies member communications, including the compilation and writing of articles for monthly IMPEL and MPA newsletters
  • Coordinating social media activities across the group; delivering effective campaigns and overseeing growth across all platforms
  • Assisting with the preparation of press releases and external communications, coordinating responses to national, regional and trade press enquiries in liaison with the CEO and GM
  • Maintaining and developing a strong network of industry contacts, including sister trade organisations such as BPI and AIM, as well as effective and up to date circulation lists
  • Promoting the MPA Group of Companies to a wider range of audiencesthrough a variety of media, including social media, digital flyers, mail-outs and physical materials
  • Overseeing the creation of promotional materials to market the MPA Group of Companies and their services, attracting new members
  • Developing and delivering marketing strategies with support from the team, for events, training courses and membership recruitment

The successful candidate will be a naturally inquisitive and creative individual with strong organisational skills and the agility to work on multiple projects to deadlines. They will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and pride in their work at all times. Applicants will hold varied IT & technical skills, having worked with such programmes as Wordpress, Mailchimp and Civi CRM previously. Basic graphic design, videography and DSLR photography skills are preferable. Training can be provided. Applicants should hold strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating confidence in liaising with professionals of all levels, forging strong relationships and optimising opportunities to further the message and identity of the MPA Group of Companies. Those candidates lacking in all required areas of experience should be able to identify those gaps and demonstrate determination and ambition together with a thirst for knowledge.
