Modern classic: Streaming a 'game changer' for Deutsche Grammophon

Deutsche Grammophon president Dr Clemens Trautmann has told Music Week that the classical label is “fully embracing the opportunities in streaming”.

As it marks its 120th anniversary, Trautmann revealed that the Universal Music Group label is outperforming the market in terms of revenue growth from streaming.

“On aggregate, last year we saw a three-digit percentage rise in streaming revenue,” he said. “We are looking this year at a mid to high two-digit percentage rise, so it’s good growth.”
