CAA agent David Klein defects to UTA

Talent agent David Klein has departed CAA to join UTA's Los Angeles office.

Klein (pictured) spent nearly 12 years with CAA, working with acts such as OneRepublic, Tori Kelly, Lana Del Rey, Gavin DeGraw, Dua Lipa, Jimmy Fallon, Hailee Steinfeld and Jack Savoretti.

“I am thrilled to be joining UTA at such an exciting time for the agency. The undeniable enterprising spirit of everyone here is palpable, and I’m excited to start the next chapter of my career here," said Klein, who will become a member of the music leadership team and will expand the agency’s business in the music/touring space.

New Yorker Klein began his career at Electric Factory Concerts in Philadelphia before joining CAA in 2005.

“Dave has many amazing qualities not least of which is his love of music," said UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer. "He is a passionate advocate and that is what artists want in today’s rapidly changing landscape. Beyond that, he has great industry relationships and will be a great teammate and colleague.”

Klein’s appointment highlights UTA’s continued expansion and commitment to full-service representation for its clients, led by a rapidly growing team of highly experienced, respected music industry insiders.  Last week, UTA announced the hiring of Joe Eshenbaugh as an agent in its comedy touring department.

Previously, it was announced that Geoff “Geespin" Gamere, Mike “Mike G” Guirguis, Bex Majors, Billy Wood, and Rob Walker joined the music team as agents. Additionally, UTA brought on Greg Janese to lead the agency’s corporate and special events division, and Toni Wallace as head of music brand partnerships.
