Foundation Scotland has announced its first new grants from the T in the Park Community Trust Fund.
The awards, totaling nearly £19,000, offer support to community groups and small local charities across the community council areas.
Home Start Perth, for example, has received £2,000 towards funding volunteer support in Crieff and Strathearn. Other awards include Auchterarder Community Sports Association and Blackford Fiddle Group.
The T in the Park Community Fund aims to continue the festival’s successful legacy of supporting local causes - and will be an on-going commitment from festival organisers - accepting grant applications between £250 and £2000. Foundation Scotland has worked with DF Concerts since 2007, managing the £385,450 that T in the Park contributed to the Kinross-shire Fund.
Hannah Blair, manager at Home Start Perth, said: “We were delighted to receive funding from the T in the Park Community Trust towards supporting the work of Home-start volunteers in the Strathearn area. Home-start volunteers come from all walks of life and give their time freely to support families who are in need of a bit of a helping hand. The support they offer has a massive impact on the well-being of parents and children, helping parents to build a positive environment for their children when circumstances make that extra challenging. T in the Park funding will help us to provide volunteers with the support they need to enable them to do what they do best.”
Giles Ruck CEO at Foundation Scotland, said: “This first round of the fund with T in the Park Community Trust has been a great success, attracting a large number of applications from groups across the area – distributing over £19000. The grants are vital to many of these grassroots groups to continue their work in supporting the communities in which they operate.”

Local causes in Kinross-shire benefitted from the fund for 18 years, and when we announced the new home of our iconic festival, we wanted to ensure that this continued. By working with Foundation Scotland, there’s a fair process, and we are grateful to them for their support and advice.
“We will also continue to support our chosen charities which include Rachel House (CHAS), Teenage Cancer Trust, Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy, Strummerville and impoverished and/or vulnerable children around the world through a variety of projects.”
