MUSEXPO Europe 2016 schedule revealed

The schedule of events for MUSEXPO Europe 2016 has been announced, with a number of leading figures from across the music industry set to take part.

Running from September 18-20, the event will feature a number of panel sessions discussing the most pressing issue affecting the industry. Among those already confirmed to participate at the event are UK Music CEO Jo Dipple, BBC Radio 1 controller Ben Cooper and Sony/ATV’s UK managing director and president, European creative, Guy Moot,

Registration for the event opens at 3pm and closes at 6pm on Sunday, September 18, with an opening night of wine tasting and a cocktail networking reception. Attendees can also register from 8am on Monday morning.

Kicking things off is the global keynote The State Of The European Sonic Union at 9.15am. This session will focus on the future of the world’s evolving ecosystem with a panel comprising Dipple, Moot and Bob Shennan, controller, BBC Radio 2, 6 Music, Asian Network and Director, BBC Music.

This is followed by An Insight Into The Current And Future Vision OF BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra. This session will look at how the stations continue to engage with wide audiences, featuring insights from Ben Cooper, BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra controller. 

Next up is The Evolution Of The Live Music Business In The Digital Age, which will bring together a number of leaders behind some of Europe's most innovative and successful events to recap on the 2016 European festival circuit as well as look at the future and discuss how they provide experiences that transcend the typical arena/club show and how promoting and marketing an artist, show, or festival continues to evolve from the music to the ticketing to the overall live experience and beyond.Panellists so far include Jobst-Henning Neermann, head of marketing and strategic marketing, KBK Konzert-Künstleragentur and Peter Smidt, founder and creative director, Eurosonic Noorderslag.

Then it's the Nordic Spotlight session, followed by a keynote interview with Electronic Arts (EA Games), in which Music Week editor Mark Sutherland speaks with Steve Schnur, worldwide executive and president, EA Music Group.

Bringing proceedings to a close on Monday is a session on the role of artist managers entitled The Unsung Heroes And How They Get It Done, which is followed by an evening of wine tasting, cocktail drinking and networking.
