New edition of Music Week out now

The new issue of Music Week, out now, is a celebration of this year's Women In Music award winners.

Our cover star is Music Publishers Association (MPA) chief Jane Dyball, who picked up the Outstanding Contribution honour at Friday's ceremony and looks back on her long and illustrious career in a wide-ranging interview.

We also chat to the nine other award recipients, including Rolling Stones manager Joyce Smyth (Businesswoman Of The Year), Skunk Anansie singer Skin (Inspirational Artist), YouTube's Helen Marquis (International Woman Of The Year), Attitude Is Everything's Suzanne Bull (Campaigner), Janée ‘Jin Jin’ Bennett (Music Creative), RCA's Parris O’Loughlin-Hoste (Rising Star), London’s night czar Amy Lamé (Music Champion), Ms Banks (New Artist) and PPL (Diversity In The Workplace).

In the Big Story, XIX Entertainment's Simon Fuller, Modest Management's Harry Magee and SJM Concerts' Simon Moran speak exclusively to Music Week about their masterplan for the Spice Girls' 2019 reunion tour. Elsewhere in news, we chat to 3 Beat about Cheryl Cole's new label deal and reveal all on the latest venture from First Access Entertainment.

Elsewhere, in this week's Viewpoint, gender diversity consultant and executive Claire Singers explains what needs to be done to fix the problems highlighted by the gender pay gap figures.

Warner/Chappell songwriter Tanita Tikaram recalls the genesis of her UK Top 10 debut single Good Tradition in Hitmakers, and CAA agent and 2018 MITs Award recipient Emma Banks shares a few tips of the trade in The Aftershow.

Scottish songwriter Lewis Capaldi is featured On The Radar, Rising Star is James Lee of Island Records/The Sound Of Vinyl and DJ Semtex takes on the Tastemakers slot. Sync Story looks at the link-up between Colorado singer/songwriter Gregory Alan Isakov and Netflix series The Haunting Of Hill House, while newcomer L Devine is Making Waves.

As well as all that, there’s all the very latest news, charts and analysis. The issue is out now – to subscribe and never miss a vital music biz story, click here.
