André Rieu breaks record for highest-grossing UK opening weekend takings for a music concert film
An André Rieu music concert screened in cinemas has achieved the highest-grossing opening weekend takings in UK box office history for its genre.
That's according to CinemaLive, that reports this past weekend’s (July 13-14) André Rieu’s 2013 Maastricht Concert has broken the record for an artist’s music concert released into cinemas. The estimated total gross for the weekend is over £450,000, according to Rentrak figures.
The film was shown on July 13 in 257 cinemas across the UK and Ireland. ...
