EU Court rules content embedding is not copyright infringement

The Court of Justice of the European Union has handed down a landmark ruling that embedding copyrighted videos does not count as infringement, even if the source video was uploaded without rights-holder’s permission.

The case was referred to the EU’s Court of Justice by a German court, TorrentFreak reports. The case concerns water filtering company BestWater International and two men working as independent commercial agents for a competitor.
