German recorded music industry sees first growth in over a decade

After more than a decade of declining or stagnant sales, the German music market has shown improvement as combined physical and digital music sales rose by 1.5% in H1 2013 year-on-year.

The rise took music sales to 660 million Euros with the largest increases seen in digital music sales (downloads and streaming) which increased by 16% year-on-year, according to the German music industry association BVMI.
