Chairman of Jazz FM, Richard Wheatly, died earlier this week aged 69 after a short illness.

The news was announced today by a Jazz FM spokesperson, who said: "Richard had been an integral part of Jazz FM for many years and is responsible for shaping the brand you know and love today. [He] was much loved by everyone at Jazz FM and will be greatly missed."
